downtown-denver-coloradoThere’s no doubt that Denver has a lot to offer someone with a couple of minutes of spare time. Whether you’re looking for food, shopping, or just a fun activity to do with someone who is only in town for a short stint, there’s something out there for you.

Food

Food trucks are a personal favorite of mine. If you have a couple of minutes, usually starting after 10 or 11 am, just walking up and around the 16th street mall, you’ll find various food trucks ranging from Greek gyros, to Mexican breakfast burritos, to your standard ball-park-like hot dogs. I have had to test the waters on some of these and I have yet to find one that I wasn’t more than pleased with when I finished. The downfall? There are still some that do not accept credit cards, so be sure you either have cash or stop by a bank on the way down to your fancy feast.

Aside from hipster-esque food trucks, there are many great restaurants within walking distance from our location here at The Dominion Towers. Some of my personal favorites include  Appaloosa Grill(menu), The Yard House (menu). If you’re trying to escape the typical American then I would hands-down suggest The Wild Bangkok (menu) located directly across the street. It’s mainly a Thai food restaurant with a few other Asian-fusion dishes to help out those without such a broad pallet.

Shopping

The Pavilions provide a great slew of shopping in a small area. I’m especially thankful everything is so close together when it’s cold outside! Here you’ll find things from Banana Republic , Express, The Gap, H&M, to stores such as Colorado Baggage Co., The Hat Collection, and Jerri’s Tobacco Shop and even a United Artists Theatre. The Pavilions are a great example of a one-stop-shop experience if you’re looking to get out and relax in downtown Denver.
